Julie Brimberg's photography career is the result of her evolving interest in the arts. Julie was raised in Rye, New York, where she studied dance, theater, music, and studio art. She was a member of The Steffi Nossen Dance Company from 1985-88. She continued her artistic pursuits while attending Wellesley College, where she graduated cum laude in 1992. Julie next returned to New York City to begin a professional career as an actress. It was during this time that her interest in photography grew and she completed a course of study at The International Center of Photography.

In 1995, she established Julie Brimberg Photography, specializing in portraits of actors, celebrities, models, and musicians. Julie has worked for editorial, advertising, and public relations clients, with photographs appearing in The New York Times, Time Out - New York, The Guardian, BET Magazine, The Advocate, Architectural Digest, House & Garden and The Source. Since the birth of her first child, Julie has applied her artistic talents to an additional interest: photographing babies and children.

Her portrait subjects include Joan Allen, Jerry Orbach, Stellan Skarsgard, and Moby, among others. Julie's sense of movement and theater is the essence of her evocative and graceful portraits. She is currently located in Manhattan's Union Square and in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
